With the implementation of Affordable Housing Act, 2024 (the Act), Note following changes which affects Payroll.

Contributions:

  • Employees are required to contribute 1.5% of their Gross Salary
  • Employers are required to contribute 1.5% of Employee’s Gross Salary

Affordable Housing Relief:

  • All Residential Employees are entitled to Affordable Housing Relief of 15% of their Contribution
  • Maximum Relief Per Yearly Limit is 108,000 which equals to 9,000 Per Month

Note: Effective Date of Affordable Housing Relief is still not notified through a Gazette Notice at the time of sending this email, we kindly request customers to check with relevant Authorities and Auditors before effecting Affordable Housing Relief.

Affordable Housing Levy Act 2024 Effective From: March-2024

To Activate Affordable Housing Levy, follow below mentioned steps

  • Login to Pay Master Web / Enquest HCM Payroll Module
  • Navigate to Menu Setup –> Payroll Setup –> Payroll Settings
  • Scroll Down to NHDF Levy Calculation Section
  • Activate Housing Levy Deduction by Ticking “Enable NHDF Levy”
  • Set Required Values as per below Mentioned Screenshot (Default Values are already pre-filled)
    Note: Default Value for Affordable Housing Levy Relief is set to 15%, We request you to Set it to 0 % (Zero %) till the time it is Effected. Once Effected, you can set it back as per the Gazette Notice.
  • Save Settings
  • Now you can Auto Calculate Payroll Again and check Payslip to confirm the Deductions
  • If you wants to show Affordable Housing Levy Relief on Payslip, then set it from Payslip Designer Page

Important Notes:

  • Make Sure Previous Years & Months are closed before making these Changes
  • After making these changes No Auto Calculation of previous Months should be done i.e., Prior Months.
